4x Pro Fuel Champion Janette Thornley becomes next NHRA Top Fuel Harley license holder.

STATESVILLE, NC. – It’s a dream come true for the newest licensed female NHRA Top Fuel Harley rider Janette Thornley. After eight years of competition on her pro fuel, 121 cubic inch motorcycle and four championships in the respective category, Thornley graduated to the 196 cubic inch nitro breathing beast by completing quarter mile passes at South Georgia Motorsports park located in located in Adel, Georgia on November 21, 2019 that qualify her as the newest addition to the male dominated class.

“We are excited about the future of this sport and my development into this category,” Thornley said. “This move is huge for me as well as my better half Buddy, who wrenches on the motorcycle. Imagine crossing the 1/8 mile at speeds you currently cross the ¼ mile.”

Thornley is making plans with her newly formed team, which includes fellow Top Fuel Harley competitor Rich Vreeland, to join the competition in 2020.

“Our 2020 season plan is for Rich (Vreeland) to compete in all 10 national events, while I continue to develop as a rider. We are planning to test before Pomona (season opener) as well as secure some additional financial partners with hopes of premiering our two bike team mid season.

As with many, this dream has been several years in the making, and just a thought way back in 2012 when she was racing under the wings of veteran Ray Price.

“I am passionate about helping others see their own potential and chase their dreams,” Thornley says. “I have shut out the nay-sayers, put my nose to the grindstone, and have a testimony to share through my journey of chasing my own dreams.”

Janette Thornley will be capturing all of these benchmark achievements on her Facebook and Instagram platforms. Follow along as she makes her debut of riding a Top Fuel Harley in the NHRA a reality.
